Testing
Simple tests can help identify the right candidates.
The same test should be given to all candidates and clear instructions given to the person managing the tests, regarding the amount of time for the test, the use of computers, communication between applicants etc.
Applicants should be aware of the requirement to complete tests before they come for interview.
Realistically in the field, tests will concentrate on technical skills. For example:
- A driver can be asked to check a vehicle, and then drive it on and off the road depending on the requirements of the job.
- A bookkeeper can be asked to check the vouchers and balances on an account.
- An engineer can be asked to estimate quantities for a simple building
